Promoting The Shellfish Farming Industry For a greener South Carolina

The South Carolina Shellfish Growers Association (SCSGA) is a member-driven organization of clam and oyster farmers and harvesters. The SCSGA works on behalf of its members on a broad spectrum of issues, including environmental protection, shellfish safety, regulations, technology, and marketing.

• Promote public appreciation, education, and consumption of clams, oysters, and other types of shellfish
• Inform policy makers and regulators to protect a way of life
• Encourage a collaborative partnership between all of South Carolina’s shellfish farmers to inspire climate action
• Engage in constructive dialogue with state regulatory agencies to ensure compliance 
• Spearhead governmental policies that represent particular interests of shellfish growers, wholesalers, restaurants, and consumers
• Open lines of communication among our members and supporters to share technology, development, management, and operational  ideas
